My name is Charlotte, 38, and I work from a tiny studio in Leuven, Belgium. That is where I dream up new designs with tons of variations, sew samples, grade into a size-inclusive size range, draw illustrations and despair over yardage requirement calculations and cutting layouts (definitely not my favourite part of the process).

Sewing came to me through my mother’s old Singer machine and wide-legged trousers when I was a teenager. But it turned into an essential part of my life after going through depression and discovering that my sewing practice actually had the power to nourish my mind, soul and body all at the same time.

After diving deep into patternmaking and size-inclusive grading, then much hesitation and self-doubt, Charlotte Rach Patterns was born in 2025. Through my sewing patterns I want to inspire as many women as possible to take the plunge and fill their wardrobe with beautiful, well-fitting and comfortable garments that make them shine inside and out.
